Also...sometimes the effects of alcohol and drugs may not be known untill much later in the childs life, she may have a normal baby, no noticable physical or mental problems then when the child is in school he/she may have a lot of problems, or it may show up in the form of behavioral problems.
The only thing i can really suggest is do your best to help her improve her life and her babies. make sure she knows you'll be there for her and look into clinics of rehab centers that may be able to get through to her, but unfortunitly you can't make her change....just be there for her, don't lose hope or turn your back on her.
