Hello, I am a 21 y/o and I am having my first child. I have had a severe problem with swelling and water retention, but I do not have preclampsia or toximia. Last wednesday, my Dr. told me to get checked out no later then mon. the 23rd becasue I as sue the 21st and had not even begun to dialate. Her fear is that the water retention and swelling can put my baby's life in danger if we wait to long for me to have her. I went to labor and delivery at the military hospital and they checked me. I am now dialating to 1cm. They told me not to come back until I am in labor. Do I have right to be concerned with this situation. Should they being doing more for me then trating me like I am a waste of time? Also, They have avery hard time reaching my cervix. It is far behind my baby's head. and they struggle trying to reach it. Is this a concern or is it normal. What can I expect in delivery? What can and should the Dr.s be doing to help? My next appointment is not until wednesday the 25th and I won't even be with my Dr. She will be out of town. I am really worried about this. New peole seem to think I am faking my swelling but it is very painful and is causing me more and more lack of sleep. I need some kind of help. If you can help me, I would greatly appreciate it!
