: I am 6 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I had a lot of problems with my second one and I hoped that would not be the case with this one. But it is. My hormone level is 15 when it should be 25. The doctor has me on a pill called Prometrium. I take 400mg at bedtime, but it is not helping. Is this drug safe and am I the only one with this problem?
: I am sooo confused. I do not want to lose my baby. Is Prometrium safe for the baby? I had to sign a waiver saying I understand that it is not approved by the FDA. Help!
I am in the same boat as you! My doctor has put me on Promotrium only at 800mg/day!! I am feeling even more scared now after reading your message! My dr didn't have me sign a wavier!! DEFINITLY find a second opinion!!!! In fact I am switching drs today! I talked to an OB nurse friend of mine and she said there are other approved ways of increasing your Progeserone level (usually in suppository form) and she saw great results from those. I wish you the best of luck and above all try your hardest not to get stressd out or worried too much--no good for you or the baby!!
If you can, please let me know what you find out, and I will do the same!
