Yes, try the ovulation tests and see if that works if you don't want to see a doctor yet. I just used the kit where you get 5 sticks that look like pregnancy tests and that was all I needed and it was obviously accurate since I am now pregnant! You may want to try the ovulation test (I think it's by clearplan) that is a little more advanced than what I used since your periods are irregular. I think it would save you money in the long run because although it costs around $150.00 I think, the tests I used cost around $15.00-20.00 for 5 sticks and you may need several packages so that you can test throughout your cycle. I think ClearPlan has a website too so you could read more about the difference between their 2 kits. I hope it works!!
: : Have you sought the help of a fertility specialist? My doctor said if you are trying for a year with no success it is time to see a specialist. I am sure they would definitely be able to tell you what your chances of conception are and what you can do to help things along. I don't know much about toxic shock syndrome so I don't know how that may factor in and I know a bit about endometriosis and I have a friend with this condition who conceveied naturally without the help of a doctor so don't get too worried yet! In the meantime, have you tried an ovulation predictor kit? If your periods are irregular, it may help you determine when you ovulate which will solve at least one of the problems. I am very happy with the kits as they helped me get pregnant. Good luck to you!
: : : Ok a little history on me. I am 29 and when I was 16 I had toxic shock syndrome. Also endometrosis runs in my family(everyone in my family has had emergency hystorectomy by the age of 30). I have been having unprotected sex for a year now or over and have not conceived. I was also on birth control from the age of 16 until about 3 years ago. I was wondering if anyone thinks that I can get pregnant and if so what do you suggest? What is the best way to conceive? I have very irregular periods.
: no, I haven't tried any professional help at this point. I am still hoping that I will be able to do this without having to go to extreme measures. If I can't then of course I will do that and seek professional help on becoming pregnant. That is what I really want, to have a baby. I will also try other methods including that ovulation test. I have heard that they are good and pretty accurate. Also the temp thing. There are times that I am more regular than other times. I was actually getting excited this past month. I was at least 3 weeks late, no signs of pregnancy, but was still hoping and then I started. Needless to say it was not wanted. I wasn't to happy that I did start, but that is ok. Maybe soon. :-) Thanks for you input.
