: MY DAUGHTER WAS DXED WITH GRANULOMA ANNULARE AT AGE 5 AND WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WOULD GO AWAY ON IT'S OWN WITHIN 2 YEARS. WELL 13 YEARS LATER SHE STILL HAS IT AN IT HAS ONLY WORSENED OVER THE YEARS. NOW A FEW DAYS FROM BEING 18 IT REALLY BOTHERS HER TO THE POINT SHE HAS SAID THAT SHE JUST WANTS TO CUT HER SKIN OFF. SHE HAS TO EXPLAIN TO NEW FRIENDS THAT IT IS NOT CONTAGIOUS. WHAT WAS ONCE JUST ON HER FEET AND ANKLES IS NOW ON HER KNEES, THIGHS, FINGERS, HANDS, ELBOW AND ARMS. IT HAS BECOME A NIGHTMARE FOR HER AND THIS SURE HAS BEEN AN AWFUL LONG 2 YEARS. ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I have had GA since age 15 and I'm now 37. It's a strange thing: at times it goes away completely; at other times it's quite bad. I've had them burned off with liquid nitrogen, I've used topical steriods and I now get cortisone injections which makes them disappear for up to 8 months. Previously the nodules were just on my fingers and elbows; now on my knees and my inner arm. I find it interesting that they mostly congregate around joints. I wonder what the connection is??? I, too, am going to try homeopathy next and possibly acupuncture. Traditional medicine doesn't seem to have the answers yet. Also, the link with diabetes, though mild, worries me. I'd love any advise since i only see this getting worse as I get older.
