I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis about two months ago. I also have it in my lungs, but I am not having any trouble breathing yet. My only symptom was fatigue and swollen ankles. This is a disease that apparently can go into remission all of the sudden either for good...or for a few years. They stage it like cancer and I am a stage 2. The mortality rate is relatively low (5-10%) and in most cases the disease just burns itself out withing a year or two. I hope your friend is ok and is one of the lucky ones who gets better for good!
