I have had hyperandrogenism (diagnosed) now for two years. It's been longer undiagnosed. It's an excess of male hormones (testosterone, androgen, etc.) It manifests itself in the form of facial hair, bad acne, aggression, mood swings, some depression, metabolic problems, hair loss, etc. I have been taking Aldactone (200 mg) daily and birth control pills. The Aldactone binds to the androgens coming from my adrenal glands so that they don't have a chance to show their characteristics (above). Birth control binds to the androgen coming from my ovaries. This condition could lead to polycystic ovarian disease and infertility if left untreated. It really sucks and I need more tests myself, but am without health insurance at the time. I have been refilling my prescription in Mexico. Please fill me in on any additional information you have or have learned. I want to learn as much as possible about it. Thanks.
