: Lisa - I'm so sorry to for your loss and especially to her 2 boys. Its such a shame that so few Drs. know how to recognize the symptoms of TTP, if they did they might be able to stop it before it becomes life threatening. I saw my Dr. 7 times before they finally called in a hematologist who just happened to recognize the symptoms, by that time I had had a stroke and was hours from death, luckily I responded to the treatment. I was also at a hospital where they could not treat me and had to transport me to a bigger hospital. God Bless You and your family and thank you for sharing your story.

Lisa: I read your message because I placed a message out there trying desperately to find out more about this desease which has afflicted my brothers wife. She was sick Friday 10/27/00 and had some bloodwork done that day. It appeared normal. By the following day 10/28/00 she was near death in the ICU at the Marshfield Clinic in Wausau, WI. My brother and his wife live in Edgar a very small town near Wausau.
Where was the small hospital in WI. and did she transfer to Madison?
I am so sorry that you are without your sister. I can only begin to feel the pain that you have and the helplessness that accompanies a diagnosis of some obscure unknown desease.
Take care:Phil Lacke
