My name is Shelley. I am a mother of 2 and was diagnosed with RSD about one year ago. Fortunately, I have a Dr who has worked with this before. It all started with an injury I incured in a slip and fall. I broke my right foot and then developed a DVT. I did not recover right away and kept having a burning sensation along with pain, swelling and the continued blueness and coldness of the area. Working has been imposible. Most positions I qulify for are full time and require alot of physical activity. (I was a firefighter) I recently have accepted a position as school nurse-it is only 4 hours a day. We are really hoping this will work out. I can't stand being cooped up at home. We are hoping this will also help with my overdoing it all the time. That just makes it worse.
Where are you affected and how did this occur? What made your final diagnoses? Are you still able to work? Do you have children? How has it effected them?
: I have been recently diagnosed with RSE although I have had the symptoms for over 20 years, not knowing why I was so sick. I went from dr to dr with different diagnosis given. Yet, the disease marched on until a few months ago when I stumbled upon a dr from one of the website. I would like to correspond with people who have rsd and expecially had a difficult diagnosis.
