: My name is Kristan iam 35yearsold and i tooo have Rsd i have been diagonosed now for 2 years but have suffered for 4 1/2years my Rsd was brought on my a severe trauma I suffered a 3rd degree open lower(ankle) tib -fib fracture with an upper spiral fracture I was 6 3/4mnths pregnant at the time a delived my twins prematutely due a subsequent bone infection of osteymoylitys.I suffer daily nonstop and sometimes I wonder why t is so hard for others to undestand what aday in my life is trul like. RSd is a very complex and frustrating ailment and many MDs are not in the know about Rsd. I fortunately have 2 of the best Drs I can find and I am now getting decent care nearly 4years later! My leg is very deformed at any given time is either on fire or in complete muscle spasm of excruiating magnitude...I suffer horrendously from Miagraines now that I never had before. My affected limb is either deep purple with darkened black edges or it is Flaming red and looks like it has been raked. I have recently won SSi after a4 year battle but they only went retro 1month back as this the 1st time that Social Security accepted my secondary diagonsis of RSD ontop of the severe trauma orthopeadically that also is accute. Before my accident I was a very talented athlete and ever mobile.I ran last the day of m trauma Dec12th 1995.I will not rum again my pain level is tooo high on somedays I find t hardto ambulate down the hallway to bathroom or care for my identical twins that are now 4 1/2 years old.I really relate and feel for anyone that too suffers from RSD my life that I knew before is gone forever..and...now daily I find small things a large challege.
