Stacey,
RSD is not in your head, it very definitly exists and millions of us suffer from it. I have had it for 8 1/2 years now. I was only 29 when I got it. Don't let anyone tell you you are crazy because you are not. First go to www.rsds.org and read and print out their clinical guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of RSD. You can use these to educate those around you. Do you live with parents or a husband? Do you have anyone for support, both emotional and financial? If you don't qualify for social security disability because of lack work credits, there is another type of disability you may qualify for thru the social security office, it is for lower income people. Stacey, how did you get RSD? That could make a difference in what you should do. Was it a surgery, car accident, or work injury? If so you may need to get an attorney to help you get medical care. You may need to get one to help you get disability to. Call an attorney and tell them your story see what they say. How long have you had the RSD?
that is very important in the treatment. If you have had it for less than a year your chances of getting it into remission or curing it are much greater with proper treatment. You have to find a good pain specialist who is familiar with RSD and treating it. These docs are usually anesthesiologists. Call around, ask your regular doctor to help you find one, but find one soon. If you answer some of these questions, I may be able to help you find the help you need. I will do my best. I can't stand to see anyone struggling with this disorder alone, especially someone so young. Be Strong, Lee ANn
