: : HI, MY NAME IS BROOKE. I HAVE HAD RSD FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS. I'VE HAD 11 SPINAL BLOCKS AND A SPINAL CORD STIMULATOR(WHICH LATER HAD TO BE REMOVED). I AM CURRENTLY ON 20 MG. OF METHADONE EVERY 8 HRS. THIS MED DOES TAKE THE EDGE OFF! IF NONE OF YOU HAVE TRIED IT....PLEASE DO! I DO NOT FEEL DRUGGED OR OUT OF IT. ALSO, TWO WEEKS AFTER HAVING MY SCS REMOVED I BECAME PREGNANT. GOD MUST HAVE KNOWN WHAT TO DO TO KEEP ME GOING.....A BABY! AFTER BEING ASSURED FROM MULTIPLE DRS THAT RSD NOR THE METHADONE WOULD AFFECT THE BABY, I BRACED MYSELF FOR THE HARDEST 9 MONTHS OF MY LIFE. GUESS WHAT? I MADE IT! I HAVE JUST GIVEN BIRTH TO MY THIRD CHILD....A BOY! YES, THIS PAIN CONSUMES MY EVERY WAKING(AND SLEEPING)LOL THOUGHT. BUT I PRAY FOR US ALL TO ONE DAY HAVE A CURE. UNTIL THEN LETS CONTINUE TO EDUCATE OTHERS AND BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER. LOVE TO ALL,KEEP THE FAITH, EVEN WHEN IT FEELS LIKE NO ONE UNDERSTANDS. -BROOKE

: Wow it is wonderful to hear good news about you giving birth. We can still have our joys in life even with this painful conditon.

This is great to know.. i was recently married and my doctor said that it might actually help the condition to get pregnant. Don't know what sense that makes but he said that sometimes the hormonal changes help patient in finding relief. Don't know what to think about it. What was your experience, did you find that you had more or less pain while being pregnant. Where do you have RSD? I have RSD in my hip however it has spread down my entire leg and now seems to be going to my back. I desparately want another child however and quite fearful to get pregnant with the chance that the pain could get worse.
Congratulations on your new baby, best of luck to you.
