: : : : HI! MY NAME IS ARCHIE
: : : : I TO HAVE RSD FOR ALL MOST TWO YEARS. I
: : DEVELOP AFTER
: : : : HAVING CARPAL TUNNEL SURGERY. I HAVE HAD
: : STELLATE GANGLION BLOCKS AND NOW UNDER GOING
: : ACUPUNCTURE AND PHYSICAL THERAPY. THE ACUPUNCTURE
: : REALY HELPING A LOT
: : : : AFTER FIGHTING WITH WORKERS COMPENSATION AND
: : MY BOSS FOR SO MENEY MONTHS. SO ANY INFORMATION
: : YOU MAY HAVE WOULD BE WELCOME.
: : : Hi Archie...I have had RSD for 3 years after
: : having carpal tunnel surgery. Had ganglion
: : blocks and meds but my WC refuses to pay for
: : physical therapy & acupuncure. I live in Texas
: : and it has the worst WC laws in the US. It all
: : depends on what state you live in. You should be
: : able to get an attorney easily if you haven't
: : accepted the MMI from WC. Wish you the best.
: : : : THANK YOU
: : : : ARCHIE
: : I also have RSD for what will be 6 yrs in 12/99 from a car accident. Have had stellate ganglion blocks, physical therapy, 3 yrs chiropractic, etc. A million doctors later and a bone scan I am now told there is nothing that can be done and that I will need to try the blocks again and be seen by a pain clinic and medicated for life. That a sympathectomy is not an option as it would not benefit me enough to justify it, nor would it cure the problem or pain I have all over my body. You deal with it the best you can, make the most of your situation, and leave the rest to God as it's not in your hands anyway. I wish all with this dreaded infliction the very best and get it before it gets you. Do all you can do, everyday, to brighten up your life. I wish all the best and hope the blocks are successful for you both. Love, Cathy
: Hi Cathy, I also have had RSDS for 2 years in my right arm, the doctors did not find it until a year and a half after I first started getting the pain.
: I have had 6 blocks and one block done by a different doctor caused the muscle around my lung to stop moving and I could not breathe for 8 hours and then
: for 5 days the rights lung hurt to lie on. I am on preciset 500g.inbetween my shots in my neck. I have my good days and bad. here in B.C. Canada WCB has not given
: problems yet and it has been 2 years, I only work one day every two weeks and that is only if the arm is not too bad. I have just learned to live with it and it helps if you
: can talk to family and friends about it. It is very had to stay positive but keep trying, do not let it win. I even go to counciling to me get through the bad times.
: good luck and keep smiling.
Hi my name is Linda and I to have RSDS from carpal tunnel. I have had this for over 5 years now, just do what I can do to get through each day. Really thought I was losing my mind for a while then found out it was due to all the pain, the stress the pain was causing, and the stress that was causing the pain. Each of us have another story, but it all comes down to one thing, pain. MY bad days out number the good now, but I try to keep my head up high. Some days it is not worth the effort, but I try any way. I have been the whole nine yards, the splints, the blocks, all the drugs on the market, the surgery, more blocks, more drugs, more wrist splints, elbow splints, also a TENS unit 24/7. I hope all who have this can grin and bear it, I will pray for all. I would not wish this on anyone. It is so sad that so many have this, but yet doctors are just now finding out about it. It is like it was a secret and they wanted us to think we were crazy, and that we were not in pain. I knew I was in pain, and it was not just in my head, it was in both arms. Now it is in my neck and shoulders, hope it stops there. Cannot drive anymore which is a real bummer as my grandchildren say, but if I am like most, I stay home most of the time, only going out when I have to. I have a fear of someone running into one or both arms( this has happened once)and would rather stay home than risk that. Good luck to all of you....Linda
