: My name is Shelley. I am a mother of 2 and was diagnosed with RSD about one year ago. Fortunately, I have a Dr who has worked with this before. It all started with an injury I incured in a slip and fall. I broke my right foot and then developed a DVT. I did not recover right away and kept having a burning sensation along with pain, swelling and the continued blueness and coldness of the area. Working has been imposible. Most positions I qulify for are full time and require alot of physical activity. (I was a firefighter) I recently have accepted a position as school nurse-it is only 4 hours a day. We are really hoping this will work out. I can't stand being cooped up at home. We are hoping this will also help with my overdoing it all the time. That just makes it worse.

: Where are you affected and how did this occur? What made your final diagnoses? Are you still able to work? Do you have children? How has it effected them?
: : I have been recently diagnosed with RSE although I have had the symptoms for over 20 years, not knowing why I was so sick. I went from dr to dr with different diagnosis given. Yet, the disease marched on until a few months ago when I stumbled upon a dr from one of the website. I would like to correspond with people who have rsd and expecially had a difficult diagnosis.

Dear Shelley,

I was very interested to read your message about RSD and DVT.
My husband developed a DVt after a varicose vein operation which caused a groin infection and
the treatment to attempt to solve this. His left leg has become worse since the operation in January
1999 ,and ,recently while in the USA a doctor suggested he may have RSD. We are hoping to
get treatment here but I was wondering if you would be able to tell us anything about your
treatment and if you feel better now. My husband is hoping that a sympathetic block will work.

Bye for now,

Hoping to hear from you sometime and that you and also Deborh Devitt are feeling better.

Best wishes,

Liz.
