: i am scared to death to have this test done , can someone let me know what to expect ? an e.m.g to my arm , mostly elbow , will this be painful , and how painful will this be / please answer someone.

The test is not that bad. They place needles in various locations and send vibrating signals which increase in intensity to determine your response to them. In my test, they would do my left foot and time the intensity to when I felt it, and then do it on my right foot and match the times. They are determining that reaction time will or will not be slower in the area of rsd. If I recall, my was considerably slower (meaning I felt a lower level of intensity than the other foot). I'm kindof tired so this may not make much sense. But anyway, it took about and hour or so. It is uncomfortable but the uncomfort is not residual after it is done. Good luck. There are a lot worse tests!
