I am writing for my wife who has had RSD since January 1996. Her problem is in her left hand and she suffers from pain seizures at the most minor of touches. She walked through an air door in Phoenix a couple of months ago and ended up curled up on the ground from it.
Terri has gone through basically every procedure and treatment available and her condition continues to get worse. She has a Morphine pump implanted, but because she angered her doctor it has been turned off and every other doctor in the region refuses to see or treat her. The only relief she gets is accupuncture and oral Pecocet. She has been seen at the Mayo Clinic, in Scottsdale, but they are unable to find anyone in our area who is willing to treat her.
Everything has been more than frustrating for us, when I refused to pay the doctor bills, from the doctor who dismissed Terri we were sued and half our bank account was taken without our knowing it until a week later. Another hospital in Oregon did numerous tests then told us they would not treat Terri. One of the tests actually caused Terri nerve damage which adds to her RSD pain.
To say all of this has been devastating to us is an understatement, it shocks me to see the lack of compassion from the medical community.
