: Hi,

: I need to know if this is the same disease as Reflex sympathetic dystrophy.

: My daughter is 14, 29 days ago she was hit in the left knee head on by a moving fair ride. Initial ex-rays,
: which by the way is the only internal exam that has been done showed no damage. Through therapy, (I'm
: doing it myself) there was progress until 4 days ago with her movement but none what so ever in the
: reduction of swelling or pain or being able to bear weight on the leg.
: Last week her orthopedic surgeon said that it was sympathetic nerve damage. Her leg is cold 90% of the
: time, her foot goes so numb that you can prick it with a pin and she dosen't feel it. She was able to bend
: it all the way back until 3 days ago but now her muscles are tightening up again. The surgeon yesterday said
: that she's developed "Sympathetic Muscular Dystrophy". Is this the same as Reflex sympathetic Dystrophy?
: She's in constant pain from her knee. The surgeon based his new diagnosis on the coldness of her leg.
: That to me was strange since her leg was cold last week also.
: I need to know if this is the same disease. The course of treatment, her chances of full recovery. The
: surgeon prescribed Amitriptyline, said that it would also help the pain, her pain though is increasing.
: Any help would be greatly appreciated.

: Take care,
: Joan

greetings, I am NOT a doctor, just a simple herbalist, I have been an herbalist for 7 years
and have studied in canada.
I have studied similar disorders from a herbal
point of view and can suggest the following:
(but, YOU must check this information out yourself
prior to attending this information for your
purposes)
-mix 1 oz Blue Cohosh (to tone the nervous sytem)
-mix 1 oz Wild Yam Root (for restless spasms)
-mix 2 oz Burdock Root (decrease inflamation, pain and to act as an effective blood purifier)
-mix 1/2 oz Valerian Root (to cut pain)
-mix 1 oz Anise or Fennel Seed (for flavor to cut
the smell and taste of the valerian root)

mix the ingredients well so that a tablespoon will have all ingredients. place tablespoon into a saucepan with 1 1/2 cups water bring to a simmer
and let simmer 1 additional minute. remove from
heat, cover and allow to cool to desired drinking temperature.
may be given 2-3 times per day or only when wanted/needed.
good luck, let me know how it works out.
have other questions just write
terry
