: I would be very greatful for some feedback to this. I've had RLS most of my life. I've recently forced myself to get help due to a new job which this is jeopardizing. I've tried EVERY med that Dr's have to offer. None help much. Most make me feel crappy or it seems I'm taking too many to get even a little sleep. The ONLY thing that has been remotely effective is strong analgesic. Painkillers. Doctors have let me try them but then won't continue to prescibe them for me. They insist I'll be an addict and they will lose their license. Even the Pharmacist treats me like a junkie. It's tremendously depressing. I don't understand how they can prescribe 2, 3, 4 or more doses of drugs that I feel are more dangerous and unknown than 1 or 2 of something that's well known and works. What difference does it make? I'm very upset about taking ANYTHING! I've NEVER had to before, I just managed on 2-4 hrs of sleep every night, but now I am desperate for help and I can't get it. So please..is ANYONE out there on a schedule of pain medication for this? What are you taking and how? How is your doctor approaching it? How did you and your doctor arrive at this therapy? How did you find your doctor? Please reply..someone! Thank you. Randy
Hi, I have had RLS for many years I also have Lupus. I have had the same problem with doctors and getting medicines for the same reasons. They can be addicting but its not like the disease is going to go away(the Lupus or the RLS) My doc did put me on Darvocets 9 years ago after trying alot of other things, but it was to the point of me having to take 2 tabs 3 times a day, then after all these years the stopped working. Last week he started me on a new medicine its called Oxycontin it has really heled me alot it may help. Its worth asking your doctor about. I only have to take it every 12 hours. I am also on Neurontin to help control the jerking movements I have. Hope this helps. Let me know wht happens Good-Luck,Robin
