Do I have RLS? I have been restless at night. Getting only a few hours sleep. amiltriptoline (sp)is not helping me to sleep. I get muscle spasms in my calf that lead to horrible pain the makes it extreeeeemly difficult to walk. Then it quicly and mysteriously goes away. For ten years my wife has commented on my leg kicking while asleep but have had no pain until recently. The worst was about a week ago when I could not even walk without the help of a cane. Went to the Doctor and he was stumped along with me as the day I went to the doctor I had no symptoms. He thought it could be a bakers cyst and I did some reading and I had the pain as described with this condition but not the swelling aroung the knee. The ultra sound of my knee came back negative. Now he wants me to see an orthopedic specialist.
