I know just what you mean. I've suffered RLS since my early teens, (now in my 40's), as does my mother. (Yes, there is a hereditary factor). It is always worse during the hot summer months, or if I have too many blankets in winter. The cool temperature doesn't always work for me but it certainly helps most of the time. I also find that if I walk around on cool terracotta tiles or bricks it often alleviates the problem enough for me to get to sleep. Last summer when the RLS was at it worst I tried placing icepacks on my legs, and this also helped on occassion. It leads to another question, why does the cool temp. work sometimes and not others?
