:I also gave up sugar and lo and behold I havn't had restless leg since then. except last Night I ate a piece of birthday cake and by the time I got home from the party My legs were giving me fits. I can usually take a couple of pain pills and it will ease them. I haven't visited this board for some time now, so this may have already been talked about elsewhere but I just have to tell you all that I'm SO EXCITED about not only losing 15 pounds but when I decided to go on a diet to loose a few pounds I also gave up SUGAR!!!!! And lo and behold!!.......my restless legs ceased to be!!! It took a few days but I can't tell you how GREAT it feels to be able to sleep thru the night without having to get up and stretch out the back of my legs several times each night Now I know its the sugar because when my son's birthday came around, I gave in and ate ice cream and cake and the pain and restlessness returned right away that night. It lasted a couple of nights but then went away again. Tonight I have had a couple of pieces of leftover Halloween candy, and I have the symptoms again. So, I'm backing off of the sugar again, and it wouldn't hurt me to loose another few pounds either. ;-)
