: I have suffered with RLS for many years but as I have got older it has become more frequent and severe,(it bothers me most days) Unfortunately alot of General Practitioners know very little about it and even less on how to treat it.I have tried many things to relieve the symtoms, natural therapies and prescribed medication but none helped until I was introduced to a drug called Pergolide though a drug trail. Its brand name is Permax and is used to treat Parkinson disease.I have been on Perolide for over a year & have had great success.I must stress that there are side effects and it may not be right for everyone but it has given me back my quality of life...
Hi Maureen: I agree with you...I have been on Permex for 6 months, after 30 years of fighting restless legs. You are right, I have had some side-effects, such as constipation and a feeling of tiredness during the day. But I am finally sleeping well and the side effects seem to diminish after awhile. I am so glad this medication is helping you too. My excercise bike also helps. How many pills do you take? I take 2 pills about 2 hours before I go to bed...my doctor said I could take up to 5 but 2 works for me.
