: I was watching the news last night and was amazed to
: hear someone describe symtoms of a strange affliction
: I have dealt with for years.
: Since I can remember I have experienced extra 'energy'
: in my legs that seems to hit severely at bed time. I
: have not discussed this with my doctor because it is
: hard to describe. I remedy the situation by 'rocking'
: myself to sleep. This has been more of an issue since
: I got married. I cannot explain this strong urge to
: move yet I cannot stop. During the day, I tend to move
: my legs with reqularity. When flying I try to get an
: aisle set so that I can get up and move about. Recently
: I am experiencing this sensation more in my right leg
: which has gotten worse. By the way I am now 44 and have
: a twin sister that has experienced the same symtoms for
: as many years.
: Is going to a sleep clinic the right approach for
Hello Alyce.Your story is exactly like mine.I am 48 yrs.old and suffered with these symptoms I could not describe for 12 to 15 years. It is awful.I was put on Vitamin E for another problem and was so pleasantly surprised to find that it stops my RLS!I take 800IU at bedtime. There are people that find relief with 400IU,and some that it doesn't help at all.You might give it a try and see.Good luck to you.I know how you feel!
