: does anyone with restless legs also have thyriod disease and or pernicious anemia. I have had restless legs for about 6 years. It seems that since I turned 40 it has been more bothersome, especially around period times. Isn't it amazing how most doctors have never heard of this?
I've suffered for over a year, since I turned 40. I have had tests for hypothyroid and the test comes back within the low normal range. I have noticed more twitching and leg cramping around period time also.I have had some success by drinking juices that have high potassium and limiting caffeine. Drinking plenty of water.Keeping my legs elevated and not sitting for any length of time. Some of the twitching and such also extend to my arms and sometimes my stomach muscles. It's depressing to be afflicted with this. I'm a very active person and feel hampered in my daily activities. Thanks
