: I am looking for remedies. I have been suffering from extreme fatigue for a very long time. Sleep studies revealed that I suffer from restless leg syndrome and it is therefore assumed that this is the cause of my daytime fatigue. The fatigue is sometimes so severe that I find myself falling asleep on the way to work and at various times during the day. I also suffer from high blood pressure and take medication for this as well as Zoloft for depression. I am desperate for sleep. I am not always aware of having a bad sleep, even believing that I have had good sleep some nights. Is it possible that there could be other causes for this fatigue, and what would you recommend I be tested for? This battle with fatigue during the day is very stressful, and I feel that if I can overcome it my blood pressure may improve so that I can lower the medication or perhaps even stop it altogether.
: Any suggestion, natural remedies preferably in view of all the other prescription drugs already being consumed, would be most welcome.
Elaine,
Just a suggestion but have you had your thyroid checked? It's a simple blood test to check TSH levels in your blood. Stands for thyroid stimulating hormone. Hypothyroidism can cause fatigue plus many other symptoms too numerous to list here. I have RLS and it became exacerbated with the thyroid problem. Hope this helps.
