: Does anyone know what the difference is between RLS and PLMS(Periodic Limb Movement Syndrome)? I don't have the creepy crawlies, my legs pull up. Every night. 6 - 8 hours a night. When am I supposed to get some sleep? I've suffered (and I do mean suffered) with this for at least 30 years.
: If you know the difference could you please let me know what it is?
I read people on this site referring to how they must move their leg. With me though there is nothing voluntary about it at all. Not long after closing my eyes at night my legs will begin to jerk about. It is as if someone is testing my reflexes with a hammer just below the knee. I have had this on and off now for about six years. I did find that a herbal treatment for rheumatism worked very well but lately it has not been so effective. I also get vague cramps -not painful merely irrating.
