Yes I suffer RLS during the day, and in fact that is how I noticed it; I had always just thought my restlessness at night was insomnia and it was only after reading about RLS that I discovered that my insomnia probably isn't!
The following things seem to help a bit:
1. If I am travelling a long distance by car, lots of stretching before the trip and in breaks 2. Wearing loose unrestrictive clothing 3. Removing my shoes once I am seated (stuff the embarrasment, it is worse to twitch continuously) 4. Always sit at the aisle 5. Sitting on hard rather than really soft chairs seems to help (though you end up with a sore bottom at least you are not twitching) Sometimes if I am in the car I will fold up a jumper and shove it on to the seat; the lumpier cushion created by it for some reason really helps
