: : I am 40 years old and have had Restless Leg Syndrome for years. The first time I experienced it I was a teenager watching a football game on T.V. I got this feeling in my legs that made me want to jump. I just shook them until it was gone. When I became pregnant with my first child I had the nerve racking feeling every night.I would shake my legs half the night and spend the rest of it in a hot bath. My doctor didn't understand so I learned to suffer in silence. So did my sister experienced the thing during her second pregnancy. I experienced the thing during my second pregnancy and beyond, and now the thing has moved to my spine! Yes my spine! Now instead of shaking throughout the night, I toss, I turn, and I rub my fist into my back. I don't have(and never have had) tingling, pain, or itching. It is not an ache. I can only say that the thing is a sensation that I call a raw exposed nerve that is wound up too tight or an electrical live wire type feeling. The sensation cannot be described by any verb I know. I only know it is very uncomfortable and keeps me awake at night.
: : I would like to know if there is anyone else who has had the thing move into their spine?
: My father has had rls in his spine for years, he has not had a decent night sleep in a very long time and I am trying to find something to help him. He has been to many doctors who tell him that
: it cannot be rls if its not in his legs. But he knows it is. Have you been told this ? do you have any suggestions?
: I am 43 years old and I have the exact symptons that you describe. I have had them for 12 years. I am up all hours of the night every night. I have the problem during the day, but being up walking around seems to help. I have spent the entire night reading this message board trying to find out how others get relief. I sympathize with you on this problem. I take a lot of hot baths and have tried many medications. My husband has to give me massages in order for me to get any sleep. I hope we can find somthing to give us relief.
