: My wife (47) has constant leg aches in both legs and has been un-successful finding relief after being to many doctors. I've been reading this RLS forum and I'm not sure if this is what she has. Her legs are not jumpy and she has no problem holding them still. When she's up and moving around, she doesn't notice the aches too much. It's worse when sitting or lying down, especially at night. Can anyone help us diagose what the problem is? Thanks.
I've had RLS for several years. What I find helps me is magnesium supplements and also while lying on my back, I tuck one leg at a time under so that my heel is against my rearend and stretch it to the point of discomfort. Leave it there for a good five minutes, stretching and relaxing alternately. Then do the other leg the same way. Also, if it's really bad and that doesn't work, I use the heel of one foot to "massage" the other leg - both below and above the knee - and also use my hands to "massage" the top of my feet.
Hope this helps! It's sure helped me!
