I've recently developed this feeling within the last year, but have no idea what brought it on nor can I pinpoint various activities that cause it from time to time. It reminds me of the feelings in my legs when I was just a child and my mother called them "growing pains". She would rub my legs for hours so I could fall asleep just because they hurt so much and I couldn't hold my legs still. But, 50 years later, here I am once again with this sensation. I don't take any medications for it, but have found that by wrapping elastic bandages (like those used for a sprain) tightly around my calf and ankle areas causes this restless feeling to stop. I've even slept with these bandages on. It works!
