Hi i just discovered this site and was delighted to see this particular subject. only to me restless leg syndrome is exactly that. I find it difficult to keep my legs still when this happens , but there is not pain involved just restless legs...Also as far as pain and cramping i do get terrible pains in my ankles and feet but this is a completely different problem. I do not take hormone replacements, and recently my doctor suggested I drink tonic water at dinner and at bedtime. it has only been 2 weeks since I started this but so far so good. The quinine in the tonic water is supposed to have some effect. Anyone else familiar with this? The restless thing is something else, more annoying and frustrating :not painful : any thoughts or input on these. thanks
: : I have recently started hormone replacement therapy and my restless legs have worsened 10 fold. I have not slept in 2 weeks . I wake up every night around 1 or 2. I have suffered with this for many years. Anyone out there experiance the same with this therapy.
: Get thee to thy neurologist...you should not have to suffer. Many doctors don't know the details of this syndrome...how it can destroy the quality of one's life. They think because it doesn't kill anyone outright that it must be trivial. It isn't. Copy the informative pages off the rls site on the internet and have them handy for your family practice doctor so he/she will refer you to a neureologist. You will do fine with competent medical help. The best to you! Don
