: I am 30 years old and have suffered from RLS since the birth of my son 9 years ago. My Mom also suffers from it. After seeing several doctors and trying several different meds, I have learned some secrets of getting a good night sleep, sitting through a movie, a car ride andso on and on..I am taking Mirapex along with Lorcet at bedtime and on occasion have to have it during the day. I also have it in my arms. I only hope my children do not inherit this nightmare. The things that I have found to aggrivate me are...caffeine, tylenol, alcohol, benedryl...I stay away from new medications because so many seem to aggrivate the problem and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!!!!!

I'm on painpills for an arthritic condition...was taking 4 a day but now am down to 2-3 and have had no problem cutting down. However, I just developed RLS and even had it in my arms this morning. I took a half a lortab...and it stopped the awful feeling in my legs (like I have to keep moving them or I'll go nuts)...but was this the right thing to do, because my legs weren't actually painful. Painpills are justified for my other condition...and I'm feeling a little guilty because I took a half one for RLS. But darn, it worked!
