You are not imagining things. Mirapex reaches is peak level in the blood (not necessarily the same as peak effect, but somewhat parallel) about 2 hours after ingestion. It has a half-life of 8-12 hours, meaning that 1/2 of it is gone, depending on the individual. Thus, the usual recommendation for RLS/PLMD is to take is 1-2 hours prior to bedtime - or even more, for those who have the paradoxical side effect of insomnia.
