: : I was diagnosed with HPV five years ago. I had one outbreak. It was treated with acid to burn off the warts. Since then no outbreaks, normal paps, no problems. What are the current facts. Am I still contagous? Is it possible the virus is gone? Is there any tests to do? Also have scars where warts were removed- anything I can do to reduce them? Thanks
: I was also diagnosed with HPV abotu 2 years ago and from what I understand we are still contagous even though we have no current outbreaks. I haven't had any but one and was devastated, I think the chances that we will pass it on is still there without the warts because the disease is till there, sorry I couldn't be of more help or encouragement. I didn't get any scars from them being removed but it also depends on where they were removed from.
Thanks for writing. Anyone else out there?
