: Hi HPV is also known as genital warts, they are usually transmitted through direct sexual contact, and I've heard some people can get them, the warts, in their mouth from performing oral sex on a person with the infection, like many STD's it may lay dormant for years before you know you have it. Once contracted the virus stays in the body, but there are treatments for the warts, and some people don't even get an outbreak, hope that helps
Can HPV be contracted through non-sexual contact, like sharing towels or sheets or something? I sleep naked and hang my towel next to my hand towel and I'm afraid about people who are in my bed or use my towel.
