So, there is no universal answer to your question re all stds. He is COMPLETELY wrong. You CAN get HPV, or genital warts. The reason? A condom ONLY protects the shaft of the penis and the vulva, or lips, of female genetalia. HPV affects 26-48 million Americans and there are over 60 strains. It is nearing epidemic levels. (But it isn't fatal and is much more dangerous for women.) Only 30% of HPV strains show visable signs, and there is no blood test for it. Best bet? Be judicious in the number of partners you have and ALWAYS wear a latex condom. (HPV is only one of MANY STD's.) Good luck!
