Syphillis is fairly rare, and it is EASILY cured IF taken care of EARLY. It shows signs, then becomes dormant for a few years. If allowed to progress to this stage, it becomes INCURABLE AND FATAL. Simple blood work will tell you if you have it and it is very easy to cure in the beginning. I think (ask a doc) that it is in the same family as the bubonic plague, and I beleive you can get it without sexual contact but I AM NOT SURE.) better safe than sorry! get checked, one reason it IS rarer is the marvel or medicine! :)
