: It takes one-two years to develop secondary syphilis. It may be asymptomatic but still is contageous. There is a lot of information available on the net; I am sure you may find all answers to your questions if you do a specific research.
My wife contracted Syphilis approx. 4 yrs ago. Never any signs, her or myself. She is going to an infectious disease specialist for the low down. Her primary care doc could not answer the questions. I know that it is more likely in women to have symptoms internally and never know. Also Syph- is mos contagious (sp?) 1-8 weeks after contracting.
