: I have this single faint red ring on my skin that is roughly elliptical in shape, (about 4" x 2" in dimension)on the side of my body at about navel height.

: It's not ringworm. It doesn't hurt or bother me, hasn't gotten any bigger or smaller in the 6 weeks since I first noticed it, and seems to fade when I touch it.

: Could this be a cappillary or something? Any thoughts would be helpful.

Hi Tim, You might have pityriasis rosea. In my medical dictionary it states: a dermatosis characterized by scaling pink oval macules arranged with long axes parallel to the lines of cleavage of the skin. Basically that means there's these oval red blotches with scaly lines going thru them on your chest and maybe neck. My husband had this, nothing helped, not fungal, or bacterial medication. The doctor said it was a virus and would run it's course, it did. Took about two months. He had one large patch and tons of little patches, with lines running thru them. No side effects, no pain.
