: : I got a hair perm 3 months ago and have hated it since is there a way to remove the perm without ruining my hair.

: You can go back to the salon & get a straightener put on your hair.....I know for getting color out, I was told to use a medicated shampoo on dry hair and leave it on for about 10 minutes or so...don't know if it would effect a perm or not!!

Here we go again!! NEVER have a straightening product (which is LYE based) applied over hair that has been curled with either an acid or alkaline perm -- the results can be DISASTEROUS!! The 2 products are NOT chemically compatable and can casue a burn to your scalp, or the complete 'melting' of your hair where the perm was applied. Pleeeeeaaaaase just follow the simple directions I gave you in the first place -- be sure to follow up with a conditioning treatment to moisturize the nair shaft.
