: Since the nail plate is very porous, it will absorb all types of staining compounds including nicotine. If the nail surface is stained, simply buff with the black side of a 3-way buffer followed by the white, then the gray side. This will remove surface stains. To remove the stain underneath the free edge, soak your hands in warm, soapy water to soften the invisible cuticle. Clean underneath the nail plate with the pointed end of a cuticle pusher to remove the solehorn cuticle that is firmly attached to the underside of the free edge. Be careful not to break the seal between the nail bed and the nail plate as infection can occur. You will not be able to remove all the staining from the underside in one attempt, although soaking your nails in Polident denture cleaner will help a great deal. After all, hair, skin, nails and teeth are all made from proteins.
Thanks a lot! Never would've thought of using Polident.
