My niece picked at her hair so long and so obsessively that at 3 years old, she had no hair. The Doctors told my sister that it was a 'nervous tic' habit similar to nail biting. It can also be stress related in older children, snd if this may be the case, you might want to try and determine the point of stress. Is it school related? In most cases it is.
