: My 6 year old son has a red scaly circle on his arm.In the past he has had a few of these on his crotch area and ususally some cortozone cream gets rid of these, however this one on his arm seems to be getting worse! I have been to many dermatologists. Each has given me a cream and none of them have really been effective in clearing the problem up. The redness is in a perfect circle and actually looks like ringworm. This is not the case. I am not sure what my next step is!
: Has anyone had a simillar circumstance? Does anyone know how to clear it up?
Ringworm is highly contageous and it can be passed back and forth; not only between humans, but between humans and felines. Do you have a cat? If so, this could be one cause for reinfection. You should maybe wrap the affected area at night to keep from transferring the infection from the skin to the sheets and back to the skin. Ringworm can be very hard to 'kill'!
