Yes, it is mostly due to age as the nail plate tends to be drier when we get older. Purchase som Botaical Oil from Sally Beauty Supply, or Solar Oil from a professional salon. Apply at least twice daily to rehydrate and condition the nail plate and the surrounding cuticle. Apply more often if you have your hands in water a lot.
