Hi! Sorry that you had to read the responses from dip shits like Melissa and J.D. It isn't uncommon for hair to suddenly over produce oils. Often, it is a change in hormones or even to compensate for an overly dry scalp. Alcohol is in most shampoos and hairsprays, thus, proving J.D's "intelligent" theory incorrectly. It really irrates me that when people have sincere questions, assholes have to insult or offer bogus advice.

In regards to your pottasium question, bannanas are an excellent source. Great for leg cramps as well.

I would suggest using a mild shampoo (even baby shampoo) and after hair dries apply a little astringent or witch hazel to the scalp. Repeat several times a day as needed. Don't overly brush or touch hair as this will add to the production of oils. Try a homemade hair conncoction of three parts aloe vera to one part lemon juice.
