: For the past two mornings I have woken up and my legs, feet and behind have been extremely itchy. The skin surface doesn't look any different, but once I give in and scratch the area, a bunch of raised bumps appear, that look just like mosquito bites (they're not though). I don't have a dry skin problem, no known allergies, and haven't been outside around plant life. This only happens waist-down, too, and is worse when I just wake up. I have tried taking Benadryl and applying Calamine lotion, and unfortunately I don't have the resources to see a doctor right now. Could anyone suggest something to help my itching and/or stop this from happening? I'm thinking bites of some kind but my husband hasn't experienced any of these attacks!
I have had problems with itching from the waist down off and on for years. It only happens though when I exercise doing something aerobic like fast walking or jogging. I have thought it may have something to do with circulation. My doc says it may be related to auto-antibodies or something irritating nerves. The only thing that has helped me is to increase my activity very slowly. Sometimes I have to stop because the itching is so severe. It usually passes in minutes once I stop. See a doc when you can because itching can be a symptom of other illnesses. Good luck.
