Please Help! My nails appear to be very healthy and normal. I've always had (& still do) stong nails. For several years now though I've had a pain in my right hand thumb. If I bump it or someone lightly touches it I have a tremendous pain shoot through it. The pain is isolated at the back corner of the nail. I believe the "matrix". I have no swelling or redness. Everthing looks normal. I did drop something on it about 15 years ago (I lost the nail)but this pain has only been happening about 3 years. My other fingernails have been a little more sensitive too but not to the same extent as my thumb. Anyone ever experience this sort of pain? Please help.
