I had this for years ( still happens ) and I am pretty scarred as a result (I had to dig out). Happens only on my face where I shave. Only thing I have heard is AHA exfoliate and there are products if you do a search (ex. tend skin, bump stopper) but I don't think they help. I think my problem has been thick skin and fine hair !

Sorry I couldn't be more help, I would love a definite answer.
