: How can I get my hair to be thicker? I have recently become a vegan and I think this may have made it even thinner than it was before. I am taking a Biotin supplement, as well as other vitamins, and I watch my protein. You need 60 grams a day, correct? If it is relevent, I am an 18-year-old female, and I occasionally dye my hair. Other than that, I don't really do anything to hurt it. Please help.
Contrary to the previous response... I would NOT recommend Pantene at all. While it may provide some temporary benefit.... long term it can actually cause harm to your hair... it has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in it which is very drying.. it has lots of waxes, and other harsh chemicals. Any change in diet can affect your hair. I believe that once your body adjusts, your hair will come back much thicker. But in the mean time... I have naturally fine hair, and not a lot of it.. and I have found a product I really like. It's called Megatek... by Eqyss... it is actually formulated for horses... it is used for show horses to help with bare spots from blanket rubs. I use it at the roots at night before I go to bed... I gently message it in section by section... then I sleep with it in, and wash it out in the morning... I have noticed that my hair "drinks it up" and has plumped up. My hair looks much fuller.. and I have noticed a "halo" of new hair about 2 inches long all over my head. So hair that I had lost due to stress is growing in rapidly...
My other suggestion is to make sure that you are getting a well balanced diet... even though you are vegen.. you can still get plenty of protein in your diet... legumes, nuts, grains....etc...
