: I am a male 20 years of age and I am losing lots of hair. My fingernails are healthy, but I have dyed my hair seven or eight times since the begining of the year. The hair folice comes out, I thought my hair would break more from dye and come out from the folice if I was exp. male patter baldness. I have tried a JR redding product for treated hair and it doesn't seem to help. I quit washing my hair everyday because I lose so much hair in the shower. Should I go do a doctor?? HELP!!
You may very well be experiencing an allergic reaction due to overexposure to a potentially hazardous chemical -- in this case, something in the hair coloring and/or processing agent. Once a hair is lost, it can take the folicle up to 6 months to produce another hair to replace the lost one. You can try Rogaine, however, your body will have to adjust back to normal before it will work. Do not wear a hat or BB cap to cover your head durint the re-growing period, as wearing a head-covering can actually impede hair growth. Try taking Vitamin B Complex -- it contains biotin which is the vitamin responsible for hair growth.
